How to Find Chests in Your Terraria World
Use the Entities panel to review chest locations and jump directly to them on your world map.
Find Chests Without Exploring Every Cave
Large Terraria worlds can contain hundreds or thousands of chests. Terraworld.dev reads chest locations from your world file and lets you use the Entities panel to review them without manually searching every biome.
Find a Chest on the Map
Step 1: Open Your World File
Open Terraworld.dev, choose Open File, then select your world .wld file. If the world uses tModLoader content, select the matching .twld file too.
Step 2: Open the Entities Panel
After the map finishes loading, open the Entities panel from the app bar. Select the chest view to see the chests detected in the world.
Step 3: Jump to a Chest
- Choose a chest entry from the list.
- Use the navigation action to center the map on that chest.
- Zoom in to inspect its surroundings, nearby structures, and biome.
Current Limitation
Terraworld.dev currently helps you locate chests and inspect their positions on the map. Editing chest inventories, item stacks, prefixes, and chest contents is not available yet. Make a backup of your world before using any editor or replacing saved files.
